Description
For sale is an authentic, highly collectible antique charcoal box iron produced by the historic C.H. Crane Foundry in Wolverhampton, England (circa 1900-1920s).

This heavy-duty domestic laundry artifact is a Size No. 2 model, featuring the distinctive raised "C.H." foundry initials framed within an ornate Victorian seashell/fan medallion on the handle bracket.

Mechanically sound, the side-hinged lid opens smoothly to reveal the deep internal heating chamber stamped with a clear size '2' indicator. Complete with its original turned wood handle grip, rear wood-tipped latch assembly, serrated exhaust rims, and semi-circular base draft vents designed for coal combustion.

Displays a beautifully rich, undisturbed dark iron patina with light surface oxidation—perfect for professional antique dealers, historical curators, or premium rustic farmhouse decor.
