Description
A superb, heavy-gauge antique Victorian copper kettle, dating to circa 1870. This exceptional piece exemplifies traditional English coppersmithing with meticulous hand-cut dovetail seams (cramp joints) visibly wrapping the rear profile and base plate.
Crafted with an elongated oval form designed for the narrow iron bars of period range stoves, it features its original deep-flanged lid, a turned dark hardwood-and-brass finial knob, and a fixed, high-arching brass handle supported by elegant scrolled brackets.
Boasting a rich, uncleaned original honey-and-chocolate patina, it showcases wonderful fireside character. An authentic, stable solder point on the base and historic wear to the hand-seamed gooseneck spout offer direct testament to its generations of household history. A spectacular premier display piece for traditional, rustic, or high-end country estate styling.
